Then, as generally happens in Pokemon, ninjas show up.

Wait what.

Anyway it’s not like they matter because they pretty much flash step away as soon as they take me to N. Who was standing directly in the middle of the path I was walking on. And it was the only available path. So they showed up why again?

Well I kick N’s ass pretty easily and after spewing some “POKEMON ARE OUR FRIENDS LETS FORCE THEM APART FROM THEIR TRAINERS BY FIGHTING THEM WITH MORE POKEMON THAT I JUST CAUGHT AND MY ORGANIZATION WHO CAUGHT A FUCKING AWFUL LOT OF WATCHOGS ARE THERE LIKE NO OTHER POKEMON NO WAIT I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE LECTURING YOU UH…. GOOD BYE.”

Then there’s a few problems with the gym leader. Skyla, first of all, feels the need to disappear from her gym and go to the resident bell tower so that they developers can shoehorn the obligatory Pokemon cemetery into this game. After trolling up and down and getting attacked by ghost pokemon every step, Skyla returns to her gym, which brings  me to my second point.

Whoever designed these gyms, like in-game, was either insane or sadistic, but he definitely wanted you killed.

Cannons guys.

You get around this gym by being shot out of cannons.

HOW IS THIS SAFE EVER?

Is there no Union of Trainers that prevents you from being shot into the air at 50 mph and landing (aka shattering your knees) on a tiny platform directly across the gym?

After simultaneously breaking every bone in  my body, I challenge and beat Skyla.

Anyway, lately my fandoms have been playing this awful sort of waiting game with me and I am not very amused.

Sherlock has been pushed back to 2012.
Doctor Who comes back on August 27th.
I am still waiting for my damn Pottermore email.
Game of Thrones comes back the 12th of never.
Legend of Korra doesn’t even have a release date.

I’m sure you all get the point.
Anyway, this summer has had a whole bunch of  info come out on a whole bunch of things, but I want to focus on Doctor Who for a moment because I just saw the BBC Prequel to “Lets Kill Hitler” and things they are happening so follow me after the cut~

The first episode of the season, The Impossible Astronaut started off the season in the best and worst way possible. I say worst because it involved the Doctor apparently dying and best because if that’s not starting off a season with a bang, I don’t know what is. This of course makes you wonder what exactly is going to happen, because we sure as hell know that that’s not the end of the Doctor considering season 7 is confirmed with Matt Smith no less.

So the last episode to air, “A Good Man Goes To War” ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. I say a bit, but I mean a fucking huge one with River being Amy and Rory’s daughter (Which my friend called and ruined for me about 2 days before the episode aired), Amy’s baby being a Ganger and all the general shenanigans. It ended with the Doctor leaving on a mission, promising to find Melody and bring her back to Amy and Rory.

Cue next episode title: “Lets Kill Hitler”.

And thus the waiting began and I had to ask myself, what in the hell does that have to do with anything? But sure why not I’ll roll with it.

Now recently the BBC released a prequel to Lets Kill Hitler that I noticed something in, and I want to share with all 0 of you wonderful people who read this.

Basically Amy leaves a message to The Doctor begging that he tell her as soon as he knows anything while the camera pans over a dark TARDIS. The camera then shows us the Doctor, tears in his eyes leaning over the console.

Now here’s what I noticed. At the end of “A Good Man Goes To War” when the Doctor goes into the TARDIS to go search for Melody, he’s wearing his red bowtie and suspenders.

This is all fine and dandy and all that okay awesome.

In the prequel to “Let’s Kill Hitler”, he’s wearing his blue bowtie and suspenders.

Now that’s all nice and good and all, where am I going with this my invisible and nonexistent audience asks. Well in “The Impossible Astronaut” FutureDead!Doctor is in fact, wearing a blue bowtie with blue suspenders.

So basically, my guess is that The Doctor we see in the prequel to “Lets Kill Hitler” is in fact FutureDead!Doctor before he is dead. So… FutureNotDeadYetButStillGonnaDieProbablyUnlessMoffatTrollsAGAIN!Doctor. I also say it because I think his reaction, the tears on his face and such, make me think of how he was acting during The Impossible Astronaut when he apologized in before getting killed mid-regeneration, or when he was talking about how he’s been running so long and finally needs to stop.

But either way, whatever I think will probably be utterly destroyed by the actual episodes, so we’ll just have to wait until the 27th, won’t we?

I’m an avid follower of Phoenix Wright. I know every case, I know all the victims, murderers weapons and the convoluted steps to get to their asses in jail and I was extremely excited when Ace Attorney Investigations 2 came out in Japan. I’d heard tiny spoilers that made me more excited and made me distance myself from any more spoilers. And then Capcom said “LOLSORRYNOPE YOU’RE NOT GETTING SHIT.”

And even though I was extremely furious and sad It wasn’t a surprise. Because games like Ace Attorney don’t sell.

And don’t get me wrong. It is surprisingly popular. In anime conventions you can sort of rely to spot at least one person sweating their ass off in a red three piece suit with a cravat suffocating them slowly in the heat. But its not enough money for Capcom and y’know what? I can understand that. They’re a company and that’s their job; to get profit. And I don’t blame them one bit. What I do blame is that “wordy” games like Phoenix Wright just aren’t fortune makers.

This isn’t the first time I’ve loved a game and the sequel stays in Japan, or as TVTropes so lovingly calls it “No Export For You”.

Take another “wordy” game; Hotel Dusk.

Hotel Dusk was basically like a noir novel. You held the DS sideways and the game was part puzzle/part interrogating people and praying you don’t get kicked out of the hotel for being a nosy jerk. And it was different. The art style was amazing and fresh and interesting, the characters were interesting. I loved Kyle Hyde with his “No shit Sherlock” attitude and jerk with a a heart of gold personality. And the story was intruiging and great. I had nothing bad to say about this game. I played it and loved it.

And then they announced a sequel.

And then Cinq went bankrupt.

I flipped. There was no way I wouldn’t be able to play this game; but I sure as fuck didn’t know Japanese and I couldn’t exactly learn it in a week could I? But the game got localized for Europe, and I imported the game; something I had never done before and probably wouldn’t do with any other game.

The game was not a huge hit, but the people who had played it were fiercely devoted to it. And the best part was that Phoenix Wright fans often loved Hotel Dusk as well. PW fans seem to run in the same gaming circle; there was also a massive crossover with Professor Layton, another brainy plot heavy game series with puzzles that I frequently googled because I had spent the last 2 hours of my life trying to figure out how to get a fox and a chicken on a boat without killing each other to cross a river.

Professor Layton has its own fans afraid in a stranger way. While Professor Layton has had it’s fifth game Mask Of Miracle announced for localization, there hasn’t been a single word about it’s fourth game Specter’s Flute, which makes several different levels of no sense. Layton once again has a massively loyal fanbase, and Level-5 has stated that they are taking over the translation of the series in America, which at least means that there’s reasonable hope for it getting here sometime.

This brings me to Professor Layton v Ace Attorney. This one is a bit more iffy. It’s rare to see a game announcement that made everyone in two fandoms collectively freak the fuck out, but this game managed to do it. If it wasn’t a fan going “OH GOD MY DREAMS HAVE COME TRUE WHAT IS THIS MADNESS” it was a fan going “Oh I love Phoenix Wright/Layton so I guess I should go play the other game!” And with Phoenix Wright apparently not being localized I’m not sure if PL v AA is being localized too. And as a fan of both it truly hurts that such great games aren’t being localized because the rest of American gamers aren’t into the things I’m into. Being a fan of a niche title sucks in a lot of different ways sometimes, but this is the worst.

And the reason these games don’t do so well? Because it’s mostly reading; not blowing aliens up every two minutes. For example Ghost Trick, from the Ace Attorney creator Shu Takumi was given great reviews but it didn’t sell well. One reviewer basically said  “It was at times too wordy”. And this truly breaks my heart. That a game series should be condemned because it focuses on words and its story is a damn shame. I always believed that video games could be another medium for story telling, but if it doesn’t include copious explosions every few minutes, good luck getting it to sell. And if it doesn’t sell you better learn Japanese or else you’re never getting to see that game abroad.

So it seems that the story of this game is going to be of me violently hating every single time I see :

X USED A HYPER POTION!

But lets start at the beginning shall we?

I got the game in Nintendo’s Saturday event, so as of 3/7/11 I’ve had it for two days.

First things first, the opening movie is gorgeous. The animation is great and I actually want to pay attention to the story for once since it seems it’ll be a step above the usual “HELLO WE ARE TEAM X GRUNTS LET US FIGHT YOU FOR NO DISCERNABLE REASON OH SHIT I LOST K BYE I WON’T JUST SMASH YOUR FACE IN WITH MY POKEBALL  CUZ THAT’S HOW WE ROLL OH GOD I NEED TO LEAVE DON’T FOLLOW ME NO SERIOUSLY BYE.”

Anyway, I decided to keep my tradition of using the water starter and  picked the stupidly named Oshawott. I kept the name because I couldn’t think of anything more ridiculous. Bianca picks the pokemon weaker then you, and Cheren picks the type stronger than you. Unfortunately I didn’t have the chance to rename my rival or else Cheren would walk around being called Ishida because seriously.

Bianca proceeds to wreck my room in a fight, and Cheren finishes it off because hey, what’s one more hole in the wall? Your mom is surprisingly cool about it and you do the usual “HERE’S HOW YOU CATCH POKEMON EVEN THOUGH I NOW THAT 80% OF THE PEOPLE PLAYING THIS HAVE PLAYED ALL 4 OTHER GENS”, although they seem to rush through it because instead of running back and forth between the first and second towns, they give you everything then kick you the hell out. You get your running shoes quickly after your mom trolls the shit out of you and stalks you into the middle of a forest. I think its pretty bad when my first reaction was “MOM WHAT ARE YOU DOING OUT OF THE KITCHEN? ARE YOU ALLOWED TO DO THAT?!”

The first gym you come across is the not the rock type like usual, but a gym where they pick the element opposite to your starter. This would prove an interesting (and trollish) challenge if they didn’t literally give you a pokemon to sweep the gym with in some shady back alley in the woods.

Since I’m doing this after 5 gyms, I’m not going to comment much on when N shows up because I honestly don’t remember. I will say that I worship the shit out of this kid he’s so boss.

In Nacrene you get the Basic Badge from Lenora, the random Black Gym leader who seems like she’ll kick your ass in a fistfight if she has to.

Then I got to Castelia.

First of all, Castelia is a beautiful city. The graphics were AMAZING and I loved how the camera moved while you walked around the city.

But Burgh.

Fucking Burgh man.

This guy uses hyper potions like he has a slave Pokemart in his gym or something. I spent a whole night, and the next morning before I finally whooped his ass after level grinding my two fire types, Pansear and Darumaka. Seriously though I was raging EVERY TWO SECONDS. I could not understand how Leavanny kept getting down to like 1 hp, and then he would be like “LOL JK” and heal it. EVERY TIME. ALL OF IT. ALL OF IT. DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY I SPENT ON SUPER POTIONS UNTIL I FOUND THE VENDING MACHINE?  After FINALLY lucking out and beating his ass I moved down to Nimbasa for Electric who I sweeped with Gurdurr (Which sounds suspiciously like HURR DURR *drool* and is making me think that Pokemon of America is running out of translations for the Pokemon games)

And finally to Driftveil where I sweeped with Dewott against his ground types. Also. WHAT THE FUCK IS A WATER TYPE DOING IN THAT GYM. After a fight with Bianca, I forgot where I was supposed to meet Clay and am now, lost as fuck. Lets see what happens tomorrow.

After this, posts will be more coherent because I’m not trying to cover 5 gyms in one post.

So this chapter is basically Left 4 Dead: Victorian Bishie Edition (With 20% more lawnmowers!) Sebastian continues to fail at killing zombies and so do the Aurora cguys, because apparently posing dramatically is supposed to do something to zombies.

Then we get a drive by zombie head smash by way of fucking lawnmower. By guess who?

That’s right.

RONALD MOTHERFUCKING KNOX

This badass pimp rolls in on a lawnmover and basically tells Sebastian to stop sucking. He says that the reason he’s there is because he defiantly got her soul two weeks ago, and ain’t no zombies gonna get HIS ASS on overtime *finger snaps*

He decided to come and check it out, and since he obviously  killed her dead-er his job is done. Except.

Sebastian is a demon. And demons eat souls. And this zombie was missing her soul. So obviously they’d think he messed up and he just can’t have that can he. So what does he do?

FIGHT A DEMON OF COURSE.

So while I’m FREAKING OUT, Ronald is doing backflips and shit on his lawnmower and riding around on it while Sebastian, (who is obviously the world’s worst silverware kleptomaniac) pulls a dozen knifes out and throws them at RONALD FUCKING KNOX who proceeds to knock it out of the air with A LAWNMOWER. And in a true display of THE BADASSERY GODS, he actually manages to wound Sebastian by slashing his face, WITH A HIDDEN KNIFE BECAUSE HE THINKS ITS OLD FASHIONED TO ONLY RELY ON HIS DEATH SCYTHE.

THAT’S RIGHT.

RONALD MOTHERFUCKING KNOX IS SO BOSS HE HAS A HIDDEN WEAPON JUST TO FUCK WITH HIM.

We switch back to Ciel, and of course my first reaction to this page was: “*Scoff* Really Ciel you’re gonna be kidnapped AGAIN?”

But I guess to offset the sheer crazy awesome amount of EPIC in the first part of the chapter, Lizzie shows up trying to force feed Ciel some cake. Ciel dutifully ignores her and heads to the cargo hold where Snake is being a moe blob of epic proportions and feeding his snakes the food he had from last chapter. Lizzie follows him and tries to give him the cake, but the plate is empty. BECAUSE THE FUCKING ZOMBIE ATE IT. WHAT THE HELL?! CAKE DOES NOT EQUAL BRAINS OR FLESH BUT THIS DUDE WAS JUST LIKE:

“Pip pip ol’ chap some cake? Of course I’ll have some HOM NOM NOM NOM BRAAAAAINS!!!!!”

Everyone understandably freaks the fuck out before Snake notices and points out, “Hey you guys, you know that symbol on the zombie? Well there’s like a trillion of them. Like right there. And apparently they’re shaking. Like yeah. So. Yeah.

ZOMBIES WTF OMG.

So this chapter begins with Lizzie already in tears. Ciel lies says that he wanted to surprise her, and Lizzie glomps him half to death and back while her mother yells at her to stop acting like a psychopath in public. We also meet Lizzie’s dad, who’s a huge moeblob like is daughter, not in looks, but in sheer capacity to strangle you to death while hugging you. We also meet Lizzie’s brother, who is as hot as he is protective of Lizzie. He’s the generic “I DON’T ACCEPT YOU AS PART OF THE FAMILY” character, but I doubt he’ll be important so meh. Also Sebastian has slicked back his hair which is also hot. So basically this chapter is gonna set itself on fire if it’s not careful. The chapter skips ahead to three days later which is when the Aurora meeting is taking place, because three days of Lizzie physically dragging this poor boy around a ship is too much torture for us to take.

We get to see that Snake is being made fun of by the nobles, and he’s awkwardly standing by so that he won’t draw attention to Ciel. Since he’s the cutest thing, OF ALL TIME they tell him to have some confidence since he’s now the footman of a noble family. Ciel and Sebastian spot the guy from the Aurora Society, so they leave him standing awkwardly with a plate of god knows what. We cut to what we’ve all been waiting for.

RONALD FUCKING KNOX

Basically, he’s hitting on anything that moves and drinking while waiting for something. This it totally okay with me.

Ciel and Sebastian are infiltrating the meeting and they have to do the single stupidest pose ever of all time. This group is obviously not the most subtle thing in the world. Then who should show up but the Undertaker being is usual awesome but that is quickly and VERY overshadowed by one thing.

DRUITT.

He’s so fashionably awesome, that he can’t be bothered to do their lame pose and instead pulls off a more ridiculous and epic pose before immediately trying to sexually harass Ciel. He seems to have a shota radar installed and it draws him to any shota in a 5 mile radius.

Also the Aurora Founder’s name is Ryan Stoker. As in Dracula. So yeah. This obviously isn’t going to end well.

Ryan starts bringing the chick back to life through electricity and the story switches back to RONALD FUCKING KNOX because the author obviously knows exactly what I’m here for. He leaves, obviously leaving hints that SHIT IS ABOUT TO GO DOWN and go down it does because the second the lady comes back to life SHE FUCKING BITES A CHUNK OUT OF THE LADY’S NECK BECAUSE SHE’S A FUCKING ZOMBIE AND SEBASTIAN IS LIKE “I DON’T FUCKING WHAT IS THIS I DON’T EVEN” AND I’M LIKE WHAT IS THIS I DON’T EVEN AND THE CHAPTER ENDS OH MY GOD ZOMBIES.

So yeah. I sorta keep up with this series. *Nod nod*

The splash page is pretty sexy. Some Gil and Break nothin wrong with that.

The chapter starts with a flashback. Break is telling Gil to always remember his priorities and that if it turns into a problem for Gil to be with him, he shouldn’t hesitate to cut ties and get back to his shota. Remember kids. Never leave your shota unattended.

The chapter cuts to Gil shooting the shit out of Humpty Dumpty and Eliot pretty much figures that Gil is nuts because he doesn’t care about killing the kids. BUT GIL. THINK ABOUT THE CHILDREN!

Echo shows up out of nowhere and knocks the kids out while Vincent saunters out behind her covered in blood. Vincent decides to put the children to sleep instead of MURDERING THEM and Gil says thank you like he shouldn’t be mildly concerned for his brother’s morals. Vincent mentions his chain being better than Reim’s and Gil realizes, “GASP. HE WAS ATTACKED LIKE 3 YEARS AGO. MAYBE I SHOULD GO FIND OUT IF HE’S DEAD OR SOMETHING.

Echo mentions that Break was fighting two Baskervilles outside and Gil starts to think that something was strange about Break.

Outside, he’s trying to kick ass, but apparently these jerks are like magical ninjas that can heal. Break figures that his Chain can probably kill them since they ran outside they second they saw him. Apparently, Mad Hatter is a chain killer, and Break isn’t sure if his chain will kill the Baskervilles before he ends up dying himself.

Gil apparently forgetting to check on his shota on a consistent basis, finds out that he has in fact been kidnapped along with Leo. Also no one seems to care about Alice who I haven’t seen like this entire freakin arc. Anyway Gil figures out that Break is blind  and Vincent reminds him to FIND HIS DAMN SHOTA BECAUSE REALLY BRO.  So Gil finds his Shota and yes he is still CREEPY AS FUCK OH GOD WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN.

Oh yes and Break is dying. And apologizing to Reim for dying. And about to kill the two Baskervilles. AND STILL DYING. Oh yeah and he’s pretty much like “HAH FUCK THE WILL OF THE ABYSS THAT BITCH AIN’T GETTIN NO WISH GRANTIN’ FROM ME.”

And then Gil Falcon Punches Break in the ass with his foot.

Basically he has 10  minutes to curbstomp the shit out of Lily and … other guy before Alice and Leo are sacrificed to the great Xenu or something I don’t know. Gil summons Raven and before epic no holds barred beatdown can ensue we get one more creepy Oz shot. Oh yeah and apparently he wants to murder Isla Creeper Yura with his bare hands.  Please go ahead I’m with you dude.

So, our chapter starts off with a christmas themed splash page. It’s pretty cute and I could crack a joke about Sebastian being horny but they’re really antlers so whatever I guess. Almost immediately after this nice warm fuzzy holiday picture we get that dude from the last arc being stabbed in the head by my one and only perpetually hungry butler, Charles. Charles is mildly annoyed that he didn’t piss Ciel off more or knock him from his perch. So he’s mad that he didn’t show a 13 year old boy his place. Sure why not. *Shrug* Charles Phipps basically tells him to calm the hell down and get over it. Now it looks like the Queen is up to fucking around with Ciel so sure why not.

The chapter switches to the Phantomhive household where Sebastian is introducing the servants to their new buddy, Snake. If it was possible to be any more moe than he was at that moment the moe-time continuum probably would split itself in half and start showering shota down upon us all. Which uh… actually wouldn’t be all that bad. ANYWAY. Snake is the new footman at the mansion which doesn’t really tell me anything at all except that he’s gonna be creeping around the mansion a lot.

Ciel is reading a hilariously weird newspaper (Get over?! Karnstein hospital makes miracles happen) where apparently a hospital is making ZOMBIES. So this is gonna be called the ZOMBIE arc. Oh also Lau is there. He apparently shows up to steal Ciel’s breakfast AND bless his heart, asks Sebastian if he was dead recently. Lau talks about the hospital apparently buying slaves (off the docks he’s in charge of of course) and using them for human experimentation in order to bring people back from the dead. Ciel is obviously thinking of his parents so bets down that something having to do with them shows up this arc.

Then Lizzie shows up. *Takes a tylenol*

Apparently her family is taking a boat trip in april and she wants to drag Ciel along. Ciel says no, but concedes to go with her somewhere eventually as long as it’s not too far away. Lizzie spazzes the hell out, hugs him while he blushes and leaves. I wouldn’t not like Lizzie as much if she weren’t so incessantly peppy all the time but whatever. No hate, just mild dislike.

Anyway, our resident troll Sebastian pops out of no where and teases Ciel for smiling as Lizzie leaves. He’s decked out in full doctor gear, an god knows who he had to mug to get that outfit. Apparently there’s some shady ass Aurora Society in the hospital who regularly experiments on the humans and the like, and their next meeting is on the same exact boat that Lizzie’s taking.

They cut to them boarding the ship, and it looks  like Snake gets to go too (the lucky bastard) and Ciel and his ho brigade are off.

The chapter then cuts to Mei Rin who gets asked how to get to 2nd class. When she points out the way, the guy thanks her and says that he’ll buy her tea as thanks if he gets back from the trip in one piece. Who is this pimptastic guy?

Ronald Motherfuckin Knox.

Oh yeah.

Does that look like a guy who wants to bake you crumpets? No he looks like he's about to kick some Pedobear ass.

The scene switches to the Trancy Residence where Ciel is being woken up by Claude. Claude is not as wonderfully charismatic and charming as Sebastian usually is during this scene, mostly because he’s too busy showing his Shota!Face and scaring the shit out of anyone underage or with children in the process.

See when Sebastian does that smile its because he's laughing that he gets to eat his soul in a few years. When Claude does it it's because of his sheer pedobear-ness.

Claude starts dressing him which would have been business as usual had Claude not felt the need to internally monologue about him, and we get a shot of  Sebastian in the forest who is clearly not pleased. He even  smashes a tree. I’m going to assume that its because Claude forgot to double loop a lace or something. Unfortunately, we then get this.

I have nor the energy, time, nor skill to photoshop this picture.

Ciel of course does what any sane person would do, and kicks him in the face.  Sebastian meanwhile smashes the same tree and it falls over. He obviously forgot to pull the stocking up exactly 1.24445345 inches away from the knee. Claude goes out to gloat at Sebastian and leaves Ciel with Hannah. Joy. Meanwhile Grelle is stalking Sebastian and taking pictures with his camera. I don’t know either don’t look at me. Cue intro.

That’s right Claude is kissing feet and it’s not even past the intro yet.

Skipping ahead a little bit-

That would be a toothbrush. I have nothing more to say.

Claude continues being creepy. Ciel is suitably upset. He is not upset enough to order him the hell away from his tonsils for all eternity though.

The plot continues and Hannah continues to get suspiciously close to Ciel. Meanwhile Sebastian and Grell go to the town Alois was from and run into the local prostitute. She handily gives em so backstory that reveals that KidBrother who’s name escapes me contracted the demons and spared her life because she was nice. Oh yeah and then she gets a headshot courtesy of the walking twincest brigade. Sebastian of course beats their ass in a fight and ties them from a tree with sewing thread. And no I don’t know why he carries that much thread either.

To get Grell to cooperate and use his death scythe, Sebastian musters up the power of bishie  sparkle.

Bishie Sparkle. Because he's worth it.

This has the desired effect and Grell uses his chainsaw on the Twincest Brigade. Sebastian then cuts them up by pulling on the string. *shrug* I’ve seen worse.

Speaking of worse, Hannah ends up alone AGAIN with Ciel and they get to chatting in his bedroom. You know, stuff  that normal people talk about. Like this.

This is precisely where I vowed never to sleep again.

THIS IS IN HER MOUTH FOLKS.

Ciel’s reaction is pretty damn spot on once again.

"WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN?!"

We’ll skip forward to where Sebastian and Claude are fighting. Again. I really don’t even know anymore. Until Ciel ends up on the roof of a watch tower all the while yelling at Sebastian to come save his ass.

What could possibly go wrong?
